Year in Review

We are proud to share the Foundation’s accomplishments for the past academic year. As we move into the 2019-20 academic year join us in building on this solid foundation for all staff and students.

During the 2018-2019 school year, $390,603 was awarded to District staff and schools for 124 hands-on classroom projects, extended day and year programs, special activities and high school leadership and activity groups. These projects reached 27,481 students at 51 schools.BEF funded in 2018-2019:

  • Camp Achieve, drawing from students at 11 elementary schools
  • 9 Extended day programs (after and before school),  including one at each of the traditional middle schools
  • 5 Innovative pilot programs including Summer Trade exploration
  • 79 classroom projects including 38 elementary schools projects
  • 54 of the projects and extended day/summer programs funded were through the BEF Building STEAM 4 All program. This promotes activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

Our goal this year is to fund 150 projects and reach 30,000 students at all 53 schools. Your financial support of BEF is vital and ensures that thousands of students benefit from these important hands-on projects and programs.

THANK YOU to the more than 2,500 donors and over 700 volunteers that helped make these programs happen. We know these programs only exist through the insightful work of our school staff and are pleased to be able to provide the means to accomplish these vital hands-on learning for all of our students.
