BEF’s annual fall fundraiser, Answer the Call, connects the community with the classroom in a very special way. For nine evenings this November, community volunteers, BEF staff, and student club members and advisors from every Beaverton high school take to the phones. They will be asking our community to support BEF and help ensure every Beaverton student is inspired and prepared for their brightest future. These dedicated educators and student volunteers are the heart of our schools, and we’re grateful for their partnership. Put a face to the names, and meet some of our student volunteers.

BEF helped pay for virtual labs when we had online chemistry class last year. The discussion that went along with the virtual labs helped me uncover the areas I didn’t understand and answered questions I was afraid to ask.

I am part of MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán) and I am excited for my first time participating in Answer the Call. BEF has supported our Westview homework club and many of our Mechistas have attended the club to get the support they need.
